Everyone, Reach One

It amazes me how often the church (at large) talks a big game about outreach yet the methods we choose are bigger and better programs to hopefully attract people to come in.  I don’t find that strategy anywhere in scripture.  Any program a church puts on should simply be a tool to bring people together in relationship, introduce them to Jesus, and equip them to GO and reach the world.  Thats effective to work from the inside out and is useful.  Problem is reaching people for Jesus is an outside in endeavor.  Jesus’ last command to all those who choose to follow Him, is to GO into all the world and make disciples.  The question for each of us to wrestle with is whether we will GO or not.  It is the all the difference between effectively reaching those who don’t know Jesus.  The world is waiting for followers of Jesus to play like they mean, to live life among those who choose and choose not to follow Jesus out of genuine love for their neighbor.

The challenge our Church took on today was simply to identify one person they would pray, serve, love, invite and ultimately share the good news of the gospel with.  Imagine if everyone reached one what an impact that would make.  As part of that challenge they have a card to fill out and place in a location they will see regularly simply to remember to pray for that person as a start.  We also gave the a second card to pass in to us so that we could partner with them in prayer.  Every person would be covered in prayer by at least two people.

I want to throw that out to anyone who should happen to read this.  Comment back, or send me a message and let me know who you are praying for.  We want to partner with you in prayer for that person.  I am praying for people that will be impacted by the movement of God in those who are willing to GO.  I am praying for lives that will be impacted for eternity.  And ultimately for God’s glory and fame as He accomplishes His will through the willing.

Will you join us?
